LOIS provides all clients with easy-to-read yet deeply insightful quarterly reports that surface information key to each client’s litigation goals. These tailored reports contain the litigation metrics that matter to you: facts such as number of cases open and closed in the reporting period, the litigation phase of each case, and the closure rate for your matters.

Examples of the types of metrics we provide to clients include:

  • Cycle time (referral to close, DOL to close);
  • Litigation phasing analysis per case type;
  • Average fees and costs per file;
  • Total case cost;
  • Closing ratio.


LOIS relies on an internal set of deep analytics that help us guide and lead our internal litigation teams and also find opportunities for clients. Examples of internal analytics we track include:

  • Cycle time by attorney and paralegal team;
  • Settlement and exposure evaluation accuracy;
  • Metrics on opposing counsel and adversarial witnesses;
  • Time to close accuracy.

Partnering With LegalScore

Legalscore measures law firm performance based on actual outcomes, not e-billing/lit guidelines compliance, etc. – actual results. In 2022, Lois Law Firm enrolled in the LegalScore system to pilot the system, which promises to be an objective way of evaluating counsel performance, blending data science with industry expertise.

The LegalScore system is operated by Gallagher Bassett (GBTPA), an industry-leading third-party administrator with deep expertise in claims management. Ultimately, GBTPA will be using the data derived from LegalScore to construct a GB Preferred Legal Network. All GB clients have access to LegalScore.
