Radical Transparency — Why We Share Our Metrics with Clients

At Lois Law Firm, we believe clients deserve more than promises—they deserve proof. That’s why we deliver client scorecards to our clients: a detailed, data-driven report on how we’ve performed. The scorecard covers timeliness, litigation outcomes, responsiveness, and billing accuracy.

Our excellent Client Relations Department puts together the scorecards for each client – providing a one-page overview of how many matters we are defending, the litigation spend, how many we have closed, and the timekeeper activity in each case. We provide them with opening and closure statistics and annual and quarterly trends.

More importantly, we ask clients to grade us back. With the scorecard is an invite to a Microsoft Teams meeting where they meet with me to discuss issues and concerns. This two-way exchange of feedback builds trust and keeps us aligned with client expectations.

“It takes courage to tell a client, ‘Here’s how we did—now tell us how you think we did.’ But that honesty is why our clients stay with us.”

In 2024, client response rates to our scorecard topped 50%, far above the legal industry’s typical client feedback engagement of less than 10%.

More than 90% of respondents said LOIS scorecards enhanced their confidence in our work.
