As a new attorney, you are assigned an experienced attorney as a mentor and guide. This formal mentorship relationship provides you with personalized support, helping you navigate the complexities of your new role, develop your skills, and build confidence. In addition to formal mentorship, our firm encourages informal mentorship opportunities. Whether it’s through casual conversations, collaborative projects, or networking events, you have the chance to learn from and connect with a diverse group of experienced attorneys.
Every month Lois Law Firm holds
- Firmwide CLE training;
- Formal case roundtables, where experienced partners lead discussions on open cases; and
- Office hours regularly held every week by the Firm’s partners. Associate attorneys are welcome to attend any office hour, which increases your exposure to seasoned practitioners and stimulating discussions.
This blend of formal and informal mentorship ensures that you receive well-rounded guidance and support throughout your career.
Monthly Case Roundtables
After completing your initial training period, you are invited to participate in monthly case roundtables led by the Firm’s partners. These roundtables are an invaluable opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions about ongoing cases, share perspectives, and learn from the experiences of your colleagues. By participating in these collaborative sessions, you gain exposure to a wide range of legal issues and strategies, enhancing your analytical and problem-solving skills.
Everyone who attends these case roundtables gets billable time credit that is applied towards their annual or quarterly goals. That means you don’t have to choose between doing billable work (and potential bonuses) and developing your skills!

Open Office Hours with Partners

Every partner in the firm holds regular office hours, providing you with the opportunity to seek guidance, discuss your career aspirations, and gain insights from seasoned legal professionals. These office hours are a unique chance to build relationships with the firm’s leadership, learn from their experiences, and receive mentorship on a more personal level.
Each partner holds at least one office hour every week, giving you plenty of choices about when and where to get support and get questions answered. We provide attendees with billable hour credit for attending these open-office hours, which means your billing doesn’t take a back seat to your learning!
