Joseph N. Melchionne, M.Ed., J.D, is a Partner in the Insured Risk Practice Group at Lois Law Firm, LLC, where he focuses his practice on defending carriers and employers throughout the State of New York. The veteran of hundreds of trials, Joe is experienced with pre-trial disclosure procedures, trial presentation, and post-trial (appellate) practice. Joe serves the Firm as a Client Lead for several large insurance companies, aligning the work of his Practice Group with the needs of his clients.
Mr. Melchionne’s previous experience includes working in Matrimonial/Family Law, Bankruptcy Law, and Criminal Law. Mr. Melchionne also developed his skills working in toxic tort litigation in New Jersey. During his clerkships in the Chancery and General Equity Divisions of the Superior Court in New Jersey Mr. Melchionne worked on cases involving the termination of parental rights, abuse and neglect, and adoptions. Mr. Melchionne is certified as a New Jersey State Family Court and Special Civil Court mediator. Further, Mr. Melchionne worked as a psychotherapist in community settings focusing on interpersonal relationships, adjustment issues, bereavement, anger management, child therapy, and couples counseling. Mr. Melchionne is an avid patron of the arts. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Mr. Melchionne also enjoys playing guitar. Mr. Melchionne is a proud graduate of Nutley Senior High School.
